LanotecLanotec, Australia’s largest producer of lanolin-based products, was established in 1998 by Queenslander Geoffrey Boyle after he recognised an opportunity to bring lanolin-based products to a wider market.

Lanotec initially launched with three products – General Purpose Liquid Lanolin, Heavy Duty Liquid Lanolin and Type “A” Grease.  Citra-Force was released shortly afterwards, followed by Release Agent in 1999, Timber Seal in 2002 and Timber Seal PLUS in 2004.   

To manage the company’s rapid growth, Lanotec upgraded to a larger factory in Rocklea, Queensland in 2001.  This has been followed by another move to Acacia Ridge, Queensland in 2009.  Third party warehouses were also set up in Western Australia and Victoria giving customers in these states a more speedy and cost effective delivery on orders.

April 2004 saw the start of a new era for Lanotec with Stephen Newling appointed as Managing Director.  Having been involved with Lanotec for several years, this move was a natural step up from his already extensive involvement within the company. 
In May 2006, Lanotec achieved another milestone by employing a sales representative for South Australia.  This move established Lanotec as a company with a national sales team in place to assist distributors and customers.
 
Today, Lanotec services a broad range of industries including the electrical, marine, manufacturing, industrial, transportation and mining sectors amongst others, with the products continuing to grow in terms of popularity and industry scope.

Australians are not the only ones recognising the value of the Lanotec range, with several Lanotec products now being exported overseas to New Zealand, Asia, Papua New Guinea and parts of Europe.

Lanotec is a proud supporter of local farmers, purchasing 100% of their crude lanolin from Australian scourers.  This support of the Australian farming industry is imperative as an increasing number of scourers are closing down and moving production offshore where costs are significantly lower.
